Delta State Polytechnic Otefe-Oghara, An Overview Of The Ancient City Of Otefe From Ibori Road

Delta State Polytechnic Otefe Oghara is one of the three polytechnic that was founded by our fore leaders on 12 November 2002 in the ancient city of Oghara.

This three polytechnics (Ogwashi-Uku, Ozoro and Otefe-Oghara)  came to stay after an agreement was reached by delta state government with University of Westminster , London.

The aim was to assist youths of delta state gain basic training in terms of entrepreneurial development.

As crucial as it may sound, delta state polytechnic Otefe-Oghara has earned herself a name as a one-stop junction for everyone who wishes to acquire knowledge and we can't be wrong whatsoever if we decide to give her the best among the three polytechnic here in delta state Nigeria.

Here in delta state polytechnic Otefe, we have about three major schools namely (School of applied sciences and technology, School of Business studies and school of engineering)  which offers certificates for National Diploma and Higher National Diploma respectively.

One unique thing that distinguishes delta state polytechnic Otefe-Oghara from the other two polytechnics (Ozoro and Ogwashi-Uku) is the high academic standards and this can be attributed to the efforts of both present and past rectors of the school.

Over here in delta state polytechnic Otefe, they are various roads leading to various hostels where students recide. (Ibori road, Mondale road, Staff Quarter's road, engineering road, legit road etc)

Most notable road worthy of mention in this article is Ibori Road. This road was nicknamed after the former governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori.

The road was named after him because the name itself "Onanefe" which means riches dwells amongst habitats of this locality.

It is also a common belief that only those that makes things happen live in this Part of the school environment, a claim that has stood the test of time.

Today as part of our routine, we've decided to bring to you inside out of Otefe community from Ibori road down to school gate. A journey we are not about to stop anytime soon.
