Evaluation OR Grading System In Delta State Polytechnic Otefe-Oghara

Nigerian polytechnics make use of
the following grading system in calculation of GPA and the awarding of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) As approved by the NBTE , the body governing all Polytechnic in Nigeria.

However, it is important to note that the minimum mark needed to pass a module is normally 40% for ND and HND. The grading system is as follows;

If a student fails to meet up to 40% in any registered courses in any of the semester examination, such student would be made to carryover the course.

A student with carryover is only allowed to attempt such a course three times after the required period elapsed.

Any student who couldn't meet up to the 50% of the total number of courses registered for or that who obtained a cumulative CGPA of 1.50 - 1.99 in two semesters examination is made to repeat one academic session. If he or she fails for the second time, he or she would be asked to withdraw.

Any student who fails more than 50% of the total number of courses entered for in two semesters examination or that with a cummulative CGPA less than 1.50, he/she would be asked to withdraw.
